The Mind Monsters Field Guide
For the business owner with seventeen tabs open.

A field guide for business owners

Meet the patterns making business feel harder.

Ever promised yourself you’d post tomorrow, rewritten one sentence six times, offered a discount before anyone asked, or turned a break into one more task? These little moments can have more going on than meets the eye. Meet the four Mind Monsters that can make business harder than it needs to be.

So… what are Mind Monsters?

Mind Monsters are the thoughts that make a habit that’s getting in your way feel like a good idea.

Putting off a post feels like “getting ready.” Giving a discount feels like “being nice.” Rewriting the same thing again feels like “doing the work.” Skipping a break feels like “being responsible.”

They all make sense in the moment—which is why they’re so easy to miss. Once you recognize which Mind Monster is talking, you can stop letting it make your business decisions.

More than one sound familiar? Of course. Mind Monsters rarely travel alone. These are patterns to notice, not boxes to squeeze yourself into.

We all have Mind Monsters

Sometimes one tends to run the show. Sometimes two or three tag-team… And different monsters may appear in different parts of your business.

Maybe you have no trouble showing up in your marketing, but suddenly the Martyr takes over when it’s time to name your price. Or you might feel really confident on a sales call, only to spend six weeks letting the Critic “improve” the offer you were supposed to launch…

Having Mind Monsters doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It means you’re human—and now you can start noticing when one of them has grabbed the steering wheel.

Why another strategy won’t fix it

When something isn’t working, most of us assume we need a better strategy. So we buy another course, join another membership, download another free guide, or save seventeen more posts we fully intend to read later… 😅

And sometimes the strategy actually really is good.

But the Ghost still keeps you from using it consistently. The Martyr changes the price. The Critic won’t let you finish it. And the Warden turns it into an impossible plan you can’t sustain.

That’s why another strategy never seems to fix the whole problem. You don’t only need to know what to do. You need support with the thing that keeps getting in the way of doing it.

Hi, I’m Olivia

I’m a homeschool mom running multiple businesses, the bestselling author of Hold My Juice Box, and an award-winning marketing specialist—so I know a thing or two about strategy. 😜

I’m also a certified life coach and HeartHealing® practitioner, which means I understand that knowing the “right” strategy and being able to follow through on it are two very different things.

I created the Mind Monsters because I kept seeing smart, capable business owners blame themselves when the real problem wasn’t laziness, discipline, or even their strategy. They were trying to build a business without addressing the thoughts, fears, and rules influencing every decision they made.
